No problem! Let me know how the new prop works out.

Fisher , I got the bullet today. Got the RPMs back but it is cavitating excessively still. What setting do you run your jack plate on and trim?I must be running it to low because the spray coming off the bolt on trim plate is excessive. Have you tried a 4 blade on yours? thanks for the time you have put into helping me get this thing dialed in.

4 blade doesn't work as well and blows out more. You will probably get 5300 on that prop out of the box, but it will work its way up to 5500 over a little time. We run the jack plate level around 3-4.5, it will blow out if you have it all the way up. The only time we ever have the motor all the way up is when getting up on plane in shallow water and that is only for a brief time during take-off. Start out running the boat with the jack plate and trim in the complete down position and just play around with the levels (trim and jack plate) until you find the sweet spot for the boat. You won't be able to "trim out" the motor like a "V" hull. From the sounds of it this is your first tunnel boat... it will take some getting used to. Also... a little hard to understand your issue without knowing the setup and conditions you were trying to work with.

LOL biggrin.gif I was ready for a beer. Sometimes extreme measures are needed when you're looking for speed and all of the bait wells are full of water dogging the boat down that is already pretty slow. I call it being on the edge of a blow out... and people say you can't get a rooster tail out of a tunnel boat. I'm sure Pops likes re-adjusting everything after I take the boat out.

THE spray I get is from the bolted on cavitation plate and spraying to the sides. I now call this boat a wicked kid that lives with us. Been running boats all my life but this bad boy has been a challenge. Thanks for the info. I am going to quit messing with it and go catch some fish!

We get the spray also... not much you can do about it with the size of the plate. Catch'em up!

FYI I took the cavitation plate off and it runs just as good without all the side spray. A little more bow lift than before when taking off but not a lot.

When you're jumping on plane, do you hit the gas hard or ease into it?

ease it mostly...trying to conserve a little fuel. The 90 sucks it slam out of that little tank.
