If you're not comfortable with a 7-9 ft tide differential, get a guide. This isn't an easy fishery, unless you know the "when's, where's and how's" in a detailed way. I have learned to LOVE it up there, but not before spending many, many hours on the water,...learning.
Thanks. Getting a guide isn't a problem. I almost expected to. I wouldn't even know what I was fishing for if I found a place from shore to fish. What do you fish for there, inshore in a boat with or without a guide? What's in season or generally caught in Feb and March? I'll be a newbe at saltwater and don't mind admitting it. lol Gotta start somewhere. Am I assuming right that it's salt water right around the island then brackish so far up river? How far up river before there is fresh water? Any place up river or near by inland lakes with those monster Fla bass you read about?
