took the annual fall trip to Choko. went with my cousin Doug and 2 other boats.

Arrived Thursday am about 9 after a delay. had to make a stop in Naples and wastaking the road through POI and got turned around because a semi took out the bridge.

weather was pretty cooperative, had the usual afternoon T-storms and it was somewhat breezy. we did get a major monsoon on Saturday (3 1/2 inches) that cut fishing short but it gave us time to get to the bar to watch UF beat UT.

Fishing wise, we caught 50+ reds in 3 days on my boat. My buddy Philip and Shawn caught more and they caught a lot of overslot fish. All of ours were 16-26" fish. nothing special, but it was fun. We didnt get any snook but the other boats got some small ones.

My highlight of the trip was catching a triple tail, never caught one. I caught it off the mangroves on the outside islands.

We went up into the river to try to find a poon, hooked 2, lost 2.

While in the river, my cousin found a pesky gator that liked his poppin cork. The cork lost.

The place we rented was badass. 2 bedroom, 4 beds, full kitchen, chickee hut, and boat ramp 20 yards from the door. $550 for 3 nights.

didnt take a ton of pics, was busy either reeling in a rat red or drinking a beer.
