Anyone see this story that was reported on CW18 news?

They had a video of a guy that caught a 52" redfish and the guy releasing it. The story line was that it may have been a new state record???

I was not paying close attention to it but I think I did hear them say that the fish would have weighed about 90 pounds????

Quality news reporting there.

I honestly don't think it is possible that a 52" redfish could weigh 90 pounds unless she ate or drank like Zamog.

My guess is a 52" would be in the 50 pound range.

Yep.....IMHO, it is impossible for a 52" fish to be 90 pounds.

I have caught one that size and it was about 50 LBs. Capt Mark has a pic of a real beast on his website....also 50 pounds or so.

Just found it was interesting that they were reporting this fish being a record breaker in Florida when myself and several others I know have caught fish as big or bigger.

The red that I caught a couple years back in the CCA Star tournament was 52" long and had a 33" girth that was 65.5 lbs... I think it would be pretty much impossible for a fish that length be 90lbs.
