I decided it was time to get a bit more serious about billfish. Seems like Costa Rica is the place to do it, so I'm taking a little trip down that way soon.

Any advice you guys can offer is appreciated. I have a boat booked for two of the days and I understand one can pick up a ride on a panga as needed. I'll be near Los Suenos.

A 27' Center Console, don't know the name.

Like I said, I read that you can pick up a panga for a half day pretty easily so I was going to pick good weather days to get out 1-2 more times while there.

Any other info I can get is appreciated ... where to eat, what to avoid, etc.

In jaco, try the taco bar. It is an outside cafe with a self serve bar to add condiments/veggies to the fish tacos......damn good.

Sage made good on my warranty so I got a 12wt in time. Debating leaving the 10wt at home vs having another carryon. Thoughts?

When I was there, we did not catch anything under 100#. Not sure if you will have a use for a 10#.
